Black as Night has become a reality here, This night is so dark, yet full of unsurprise.

*

Watch the world come alive, the skeletons of trees dawning all of their leaves. Stars fade out and refraction reigns, as she sings, the red glow begins.

*

Vision encumbered by a thick blank slate, fear grips my heart as I can no longer see. But we are still moving, easily pushing the air aside, parting the fog until we ride it out.

*

In opposition to the blank white paper calling for an inky blue etching of thought, the pre-dawn sky asks the stars to expand until daylight rises, trying to describe the depths of its purity. It is as eternity.

*

Nothing a photograph could possibly capture, nothing a word could possibly describe. Shadows upon shadows, the mountains marking a passage of time.

*

The potent smoke swirls freely around the car before exiting the window quickly. Too many cigarettes lay marking in his lungs and he calls it breakfast. I fight back with the sweet smell of strawberries, for the long road ahead. He pops one in his mouth, I expect easy replacement of that choking stuff. Instead, they create the perfect combination: “This is my new breakfast of choice – Strawberries and Cigarettes.”

*

An ancient people stopped in their place and stared up at the sky, and never moved again. Eventually the earth mimicked them and settled upon their upturned faces. They’re last move is etched eternally into the earth as a mountain.

*

The earth, she let me see her curve. Now my mind is mixed with beauty and joy that she showed me her secret. One that I will keep for her.

*

Each word gets caught in my throat, trying to describe what I am seeing to another. A mix of ecstasy and emotion, so strong that my body stops working, save for my eyes, who know their job is to make sure I see everything.

*

Standing on the edge of the world and taking a moment to sing whatever fits. A hard choice to make, it would seem, whether to float forever into the sky or be eternally hypnotized by the depths of the sea. There is no more going back for me.

*

Stunned into silence as the door opens, intended for exit. Instead the sounds of nature above the obnoxious traffic enters in and greets me happily.

*

He left his body to its own devices for only a moment, and let his mind become his focus. But his mind was too tired and required all of his energy. The greedy thing stole it all from the rest of his limbs and his glass shattered onto the cement. It took but one second for the rest of him to come tumbling after, on top of the sharpened edges and crippling cement. Panic swept over those who witnessed not all, but only part of this exchange. He awoke quickly, in a confused way, his body and mind, together, took a vacation and he was blind to everything.

*

The morning-goers, up before the afternoon-slowers, humbly walking along while making each street beautiful with the presence of their purpose.

*

A little bit of pain, never hurt anybody. But a tumult of fame does so much damage.

*

She watched the city take on its own kind of beauty, unnatural in a nature sense, but still appreciated. She watched as the city gave way to sky. Her company pointed to the boat swimming in midair. Her heart stopped and her mind popped with the realization that ocean lay beyond the earth, beyond the city. She breathed in sharply and thanked someone silently.

*

The strange kind of beauty, which only night could bring. It snaps it’s darkness upon everything, Not sure what it is, but with the night so absolute, It remains eerie with unknowing but stays at a comfortable distance.

*

Returning to a flat earth felt like falling from grace. A surprised, tired, and hurt look upon her face. She remembered the place, from which they had come, the place, like a drug, she was withdrawing from.
